This saddle was designed with the long rider and packer in mind. This saddle comes in at 19 lbs, with a modification of a Sam Stag rigging that can be repaired anywhere that leather strap is available. This saddle was designed for my continuous ride from Mexico to Canada in 2017, where it was tested to its full potential and the rigors of the trail. With a kicked back half seat, it provides freedom of motion for your legs without causing a pinch point (like most half seats) where the stirrup leather and seat meet. Handholds in the seat not only give you something to hold onto when things get a little rough, but also allow you to convert your riding saddle into a decker pack saddle.

Built on a Double L Lady wade tree with a 8” gullet and Northwest style bars are standard that will fit a variety of horses well. I do custom fitting, or if you have a bar type you’d like I can use that as well. The 3×4.5” finished wood post horn will hold a dally under even the heaviest use. A shaved and shaped ground seat ensures a comfortable seat for long days in the saddle and a 5×12x1- 1/2” dished round cantle provides a safe seat thats comfortable for those long days on the trail. Or if things get a little rough. Built with a flat plate rigging and butterfly skirts to give the best in strength, highest level of leg contact with your horse or mule, without anything extra that doesn’t need to be there. A crossover rope strap is standard and a 3” rear cinch with 1 3/4'“ removable billets are included along with a 5 Star mohair roper cinch. Just like the Packers Saddle, this saddle can be converted into a pack saddle with just a single length of rope, or a set of bags. Weighing 19lbs, you can throw it up onto your horse everyday and never fell weighted down.
